Lee Road Community Clean Up
On Saturday, March 12, 2026 the Lee Road Safe Neighborhood Organization held a community clean-up for the Lee Road corridor. Solid Waste provided the services of Advanced Disposal and they collected 28,840 lbs. of bulky items and tires placed curbside and at the staging location by the residents equaling 14.42 tons. The Environmental Protection Division had 20 appointments and they received 2,240 lbs. of household hazardous waste and electronics equaling 1.12 tons. This gives us a grand total of 31,080 lbs. of bulky items, tires, household hazardous waste and electronics equaling 15.54 tons.
Commissioner Bryan Nelson, Commissioner Ted Edwards and the members of Lee Road Safe Neighborhood would like to thank everyone that came out Saturday to support the community clean up.
Trojan Service Day 2016
On Saturday, April 2, 2026 Maynard Evans High School participated in its in annual Trojan Service Day. Over 160 students and volunteers participated in a series of community service efforts. Some of these efforts include packing hygiene and food kits for the needy, picking up trash in the neighboring Pine Hills Community, and some landscaping in the surrounding area. This year’s efforts could not have been without Starbucks and City Year Orlando. Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, UCP of Central Florida, and the Central Florida Urban League were all on hand for the day’s events.
Commissioner Victoria Siplin, Commissioner Bryan Nelson and the Staff of Maynard Evans High School would like to thank everyone that came out Saturday to the Pine Hills Neighborhood Improvement Distritct and Trojans Service Day.

New Azalea Park Security

New G4S security officers will be patrolling the area. These security officers will provide extra support and security for Azalea Park neighborhoods. The guards do not have the power to arrest, however, in the event a crime being committed in their presence they can perform a citizens’ arrest. University of Central Florida Researchers will monitor the success of the program, and if proven successful, private security could be used throughout the County.
