Orange County, Florida

Tildenville

ABOUT US

In 1876 Luther Fuller Tilden, a farmer from New York, brought his family to Florida in pursuit of a warmer climate and purchased the land southwest of Winter Garden that would later come to be known as Tildenville. Bound by West Colonial Drive, Winter Garden-Vineland Road, Ellerbee Street, and Avalon Road one can still find nearly 20 dwellings typical of labor housing built for African American citrus grove laborers in the heart of the Tildenville Safe Neighborhood.

The Tildenville Safe Neighborhood desires to increase the safety and beauty of their neighborhood, while maintaining the rural character and charm of the community.
